10. MOTIVATION / WARM-UP:
- The Teacher asks a few questions to motivate students:
• How was your holiday?
• What is your favourite holiday destination?
• Can you express your excitement about receiving the perfect gift?
• What questions would you ask your friend about the holiday?

11. INTRODUCTION OF THE TOPIC:
- The Teacher introduces the topic: “The Kinds of Sentences”
- There are four kinds of sentences based on their function: Statement, Imperative, Interrogative and Exclamatory.

12. CONTENT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES:
- The teacher revises the eight parts of speech from the previous class.
- A game with popsicle sticks is played to reinforce identification of parts of speech.
- The teacher explains what a sentence is (Subject and Predicate) and elaborates the four different kinds of sentences based on function.

- There are four kinds of sentences based on their function:
• Declarative – to make statements. Example: "The sun sets in the west."
• Imperative – to give commands. Example: "Please pass me the salt." / "Clean your room before you go out."
• Interrogative – to ask questions. Example: "Did you finish your homework?" / "What time is the party?"
• Exclamatory – to express strong emotions. Example: "What a beautiful sunset!" / "I can't believe I won the competition!"

- Identify the kinds of sentences given below:

◦ Did you eat lunch?

• MOT:
◦ Write an example of an exclamatory sentence expressing joy or excitement.
◦ He is a talented musician.

16. REMEDIAL MEASURES:
- The teacher selects a paragraph from a book for late bloomers and asks them to analyse the sentences and identify the different types.
- The teacher revises the parts of speech and kinds of sentences using infographics.

- Revision and reinforcement of core concepts for late bloomers.

- Practice exercises for sentence identification and examples.

19. HOME WORK:
- Write the eight different types of parts of speech with example.

- The teacher explains how to use a dictionary.
- Mini Task: Students are divided into 4 groups. Each group gets 5 challenging words to:

• Note spelling and pronunciation
• Use in a sentence

- A reading comprehension is shown on the digital board.
- Students read the passage and answer questions.
- Audio comprehension is also played; students answer quiz questions in groups.


13. ACTIVITY 4 – Reading Library Books:
- Students are categorized into A, B, C, D groups based on previous tasks.
- A and B groups read books and express the content in their own words (speaking skill).

14. REMEDIAL MEASURES:
- C and D group students are taught Jolly Phonics sounds with actions for each.
15. HOME WORK / FOLLOW-UP WORK:
- Reading: Assigned paragraph reading from textbook.
- Writing: Write an essay on "What I did in the Holiday" (150 words).
- Four-line note handwriting practice.

The Teacher plays Treasure Hunt game inside the classroom.
She asks the students to find the treasure with the clue card
and introduces the topic: Preposition.

 

 

5. MOTIVATIONAL QUESTIONS

The clue card will the hint the position of the treasure:

1. I am under the table

2. I am behind the door

Students will learn the position and preposition through this game.

6. CONTENT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES – CDA:

 

After Playing the Treasure Hunt game, the teacher asks the clues again stressing the prepositions and student learn various types of preposition.

A preposition is a word that is placed before a noun or pronoun to show its relationship with other words in a sentence. Its kinds are prepositions of time, prepositions of place, prepositions of movement.

I. Preposition of time: (in, on, at, since, for, during)

They indicate when a particular event happened.

II. Preposition of place: (in, on, between, behind, under, over, near)

They indicate a location.

III. Preposition of movement: (to, into, towards, through)

They indicate movement.

The teacher gives some examples.

9. EVALUATION:

The teacher projects a picture in white screen and writes some sentences on the black board and asks the students to fill in the blanks with prepositions:

(On, in, beside, under, in front of)

    The girl is sitting ____ a bench.

4.     MOTIVATIONAL QUESTIONS / WARM-UP:

        To motivate the students towards the topic, the teacher conducts a debate on the topic: Is woman Superior or Man Superior.

 

5.     INTRODUCTION OF THE TOPIC:

 

      After the debate, The Teacher introduces the topic “The Story of Mulan”, the story of a Chinese Legendary woman, who fought for her country and won the war. The story’s main theme is “Patriotism has no gender”.

 

6.     CONTENT DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES:

The teacher selects a passage from the story and gives a model reading. Gives them it’s explanation and encourage them to read and enjoy the story with their friends.  The students listen to the teacher’s explanation and instructions attentively. The teacher shows the video on the lesson and explains the story.

kung fu : a chinese method of fighting that involves using your hands and feet and not using weapons

Ø The Story of Mulan is a Chinese folklore, a true story of a teenage girl turned warrior in China.

Ø Long ago, China had to face war, for which additional soldiers were required.

Ø The Chinese emperor demanded one man from each family join the army.

Ø Women were prohibited from working in armies in those days in China. Still, Mulan wanted to join the army on behalf of her aged, ill father.

Ø She chopped her hair, changed her clothes to those of a man, and convinced her father to let her join the army.

Ø Mulan won all the battles and was put in charge of other soldiers.

Ø When things were going well in Mulan's life, a dangerous fever swept through the soldiers of Mulan's regiment, and it caused Mulan herself to fall ill.

Ø Unfortunately, Mulan's identity was revealed to the soldiers by the doctor who treated her during her fever.

Ø Despite her illness, Mulan led her team to escape from the enemy. Finally, China successfully won the war.

Ø Mulan bought honour to her family and went home with the lavish gifts that the emperor had given her
